Description

The Rambler is Lukas Halahan's signature frame, cooked up with his younger brother Nate: a US made trail rig with a slightly bigger top tube set so Luke, and anyone else who picks one up, can boost with confidence.

Luke's version runs a 74° head tube angle and a slightly longer rear end for riders after a mellower trail geometry. Butted Thermal-X tubing, a mid bottom bracket, an integrated head tube and seat clamp, and 4Q-Baked 14mm dropouts bring it in at 2.45 kg.

Features
  • Signature trail frame from Lukas. Lukas Halahan and his brother Nate built the Rambler around a slightly bigger top tube set so you can boost trails with confidence.
  • Mellower 74° head tube angle. Paired with a 14" to 14.75" rear end, it settles the frame down for riders who want a calmer trail geometry.
  • Butted Thermal-X tubeset. S&M's butted Thermal-X tubing brings the whole frame in at 2.45 kg.
  • 14mm dropouts, 4Q-Baked. The 14mm slot dropouts are 4Q-Baked, and the brake mounts are welded 990 on the chainstay, with no gyro tabs.
  • Integrated head tube and clamp. A 5" integrated 41.8mm head tube, integrated seat clamp and mid bottom bracket keep the build simple, with a 1" seat post.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
  • Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.
