Alex Donnachie Inspired BSD ALVX Custom 🌧️

BSD ALVX AF+ custom BMX in Electric Blue, side on

An overcast day in Brisbane, so we spent it in the workshop building up this Alex Donnachie inspired BSD custom for Nathan, a local rider. It's built around Alex's own signature frame, the BSD ALVX AF+ in Electric Blue, with a black parts kit so the blue does the talking.

The ALVX AF+ runs a short 12.5" rear end with invest cast dropouts, and this one has a 21" top tube. We slammed the back wheel all the way in, where BSD's built-in chain tensioners hold it in place.

Up front it's a BSD Dust fork with a 26mm offset, a Highriser integrated headset and the Tweeker front load stem, with the bars cut down an inch each side.

Eclat Cortex OS front hub in the BSD Dust fork

The wheels are Eclat Bondi straight-wall rims at both ends: a Cortex OS front hub and a Shift 9T freecoaster out back. They roll on Cult x Vans Wafflecup tyres in 2.4" with Odyssey Air Supply tubes, and four Eclat Venom pegs mean it's ready for anything.

The drivetrain is Eclat Tibia XLT cranks in 160mm on a Family Mid bottom bracket, a 27T BSD Guard sprocket and a Shadow Interlock V2 chain. Cinema Tilt pedals and an Odyssey Broc Pivotal seat on a 300mm BSD Blitzed post finish it off.
